Learning Color

It's about time, I mean I've been putting pencil to paper for the last 22 years, and yet I've strayed away from color because frankly I just don't understand it all too well. I'm hoping this will help guide my decisions when I fill in my comic inkings, but who knows. I'm following some online tutorials and suggestions, so below is my first piece dedicated solely to trying to understand color, specifically complementary colors.

I'm told pastels are ideal for this kind of study, however I of course don't have any at my work machine. Instead I decided to go with a pastel brush in Photoshop. So yes, this whole piece was done digitally.
